London, UK, 23 May 2001 - GFI, leading developer of fax server software, has launched an upgraded version of FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP, 8.1. The new release adds various enhancements to its predecessor, including greater integration with Microsoft Outlook than ever before.

Using FAXmaker, all network users can send and receive faxes right from their desktop. FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP includes clients for Windows 95/98/ME and NT/2000 and works with most popular networks and fax/modems. It also includes an Email to Fax and Fax to Email gateway, allowing all email users to send and receive faxes from within their favourite email application.

A key benefit offered by version 8.1 is a simpler installation process thanks to the new FAXmaker configuration wizard. Additionally, there is now one product build that can install on both Windows 2000 and Windows NT, depending on the user's needs.

With FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP 8.1, all user administration is done via the Microsoft Management Console. For those using Windows 2000, this new version supports the Windows 2000 fax modem drivers, giving a wide range of hardware support and providing faster fax transmission. FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP 8.1 also supports the HP Digital Sender, enabling users to send paper documents through the fax server easily.
